🧪 Material Properties

  • Strong and impact-resistant: Much tougher than PLA.
  • Durable: Good for functional parts and mechanical stress.
  • Lightweight: Common in automotive and consumer products.
  • Slightly flexible: Better than PLA, not as flexible as TPU.

🔧 Printing Characteristics

  • Print temperature: 230–260°C.
  • Heated bed required: 90–110°C to prevent warping.
  • Warping is common: Needs an enclosed print chamber or draft-free environment.
  • Strong odor when printing: Ventilation is recommended.
  • Poor bed adhesion: Needs adhesives (glue stick, ABS slurry, or PEI sheets).

🧱 Mechanical Properties

  • High impact strength: Withstands drops and force.
  • Good heat resistance: Glass transition temperature ~105°C.
  • Can be post-processed: Easily sanded, drilled, and smoothed with acetone vapor.
  • Less brittle than PLA: More ductile under stress.

🌡️ Environmental Resistance

  • Moderate weather resistance: Degrades under prolonged UV exposure.
  • Moisture-sensitive during printing: Should be kept dry.
  • Stable in dry indoor environments.

Common Applications

  • Automotive parts
  • Enclosures and housings
  • LEGO bricks
  • Functional prototypes
  • Snap-fit parts
  • Tools and fixtures
